My heart

I've spent the morning listening to my record player (I have a Paul Mcartney Album on repeat), cleaning out my film camera, waiting for a package full of Kodak film to arrive in the mail. T-minus 2 days until I venture south on an impromptu road-trip with the love of my life. to NASHVILLE! I'm heading to a film workshop in the beautiful state of Tennessee. on a farm. My heart is totally a flutter. I have so many mixed feelings of nervousness, excitement, I don't even know where to begin. Film is a medium I adore and starting to incorporate it into my business model as a fine art photographer has been a career goal of mine for quite some time now.

I'm excited to share the journey with you here.

Here's a few art pieces for you to feast your eyes on that I've been working on- also using a new medium (india ink) on an old medium (canvas). Ink is so incredibly lovely to work with. It's forgiving and flowing and bright. If you've never worked with it before, I'd describe it as a mix between acrylics and watercolors. Except it gives you incredible color and flows/mixes in an amazing way. The piece on the right is entitled, "My heart" and is about the size of my front door. I am still deciding whether or not to keep it black and white or add some color. The piece next to it, is entitled "pink" and both are part of my summer art series "Migration". These pieces will be added to my online art shop next month.

Happy July!
