my childhood beach

Who forgets their childhood beach? I presume no one. Especially when you grow up near one of the most beautiful beaches in the world (warning: I am completely biased). Cocoa Beach, located on the East Coast of Florida, straight over from Orlando, and 2 hours north of Palm Beach, is gorgeous. Cocoa Beach is where I learned  how to surf, where I had my first job, and where I fell in love for the first time. I love everything about it- the sand, the dunes, the wide beach, how far you have to walk out to swim in the ocean, navigating around all the tourists from all over the world, how hot the sun is, and my favorite: that warm afternoon rain. We actually had a ton of rain while we were visiting last week. I loved every moment of it. On rainy days, we parked ourselves in a local beachside bar for happy hour drinks and fresh shrimp, just watching and listening to the rain pour down. A few days were spent by the pool, cold mornings in the hot tub, but everyday was spent outside- rain or shine. I got to see a ton of friends, my beautiful family, and just get a reminder of where I come from. All things that have always been food for my soul. There is no place like home.
