Snow on the ropes

This weekend was like every other weekend. We went outside. The lake always draws us to its shores, no matter how frozen they may be. We went up to my old stompin' grounds where I took my sailing lessons. Sailboats have long been put away, but we were lucky enough to see this huge freight liner move through Sturgeon Bay that day. SO big a tug boat led the way carving up the ice for the big ship. The ship actually had to back up, but not before it held up both drawbridges at the same time! We finally wandered through the Maritime Museum, visited 1 of the   12 gorgeous lighthouses on the peninsula, and saw tons of old farmhouses and wildlife everywhere. After exploring, we launched ourselves in front of the fire, our cold hands around mugs of hot chocolate every night. It was a beautiful way to spend the winter weekend.
