Snowshoeing my life away

Wilderness is the raw material out of which man has hammered the artifact called civilization. -Aldo Leopold

Tons and tons of beautiful fresh snow means it's time to go outside! I received a brand new pair of snowshoes for Christmas from the love of my life. For those of you who don't know what these shoes can do for you, they're amazing. They increase the surface area of the bottom of your foot so you can walk on the surface of the snow. Anywhere. (I think). We walked across frozen rivers, saw old bee hives, and abandoned birds nests from the summer. And the trees! Oh my gosh the trees with snow so perfectly placed on the branches. Just so beautiful. There was no one else in the park that day. We had the entire forest, it seemed, to ourselves. It was incredibly romantic and such a peaceful way to spend early Christmas Eve morning together.
