A few of my favorite things

As part of my new years resolutions, I'm determined to appreciate the small things in life. To stop and smell the roses- literally. I thought I'd share a few things that make me happy these days.

fresh flowers in my studio.

writing letters.

I truly believe this is a lost art form.
Living so far from my friends and family gives me an excuse to revisit writing letters.

dry shampoo.

It's official. I've run out of my treasured travel products that I brought here. I found this dry shampoo recently here in Australia and have fallen in love with dry shampoo more than just to use it for camping. It's a great way to put some volume in your hair or to avoid washing your hair every day. I love the  Coconut smell- which I have not been able to find in the U.S.

This is a great medium for any artist- experienced or up-and-coming. I love how inexpensive it is and it smears so easily. It's great for just sketching out your thoughts.

lemongrass soap.

I'm a bar soap girl, and consider myself something of a bar soap snob. I love buying handmade soap, or soap made on farms with goat's milk, or in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina- where they have the best soap in the world. I absolutely love this soap. Another recent great find here in my local pharmacy (chemist).

tea with lemon and honey.

I've recently switched from drinking coffee to tea. (gasp!) I know. I started drinking tea every other day and then realized how much I was loving the switch and came over to the other side completely. I noticed coffee was really hard on my digestive system and was counteracting all my teeth whitening I was doing which was making my teeth really sensitive. I've been loving the switch. The lemon and tea jazz it up.

sea foam color and anything with stripes.
Flats: Cotton On, Sweatshirt: Banana Republic, Scarf: American Eagle, Shirt: Charlotte Russe

Check out these cute sea foam flats! They are the perfect work shoe. As I was packing head scarfs for our travel to Indonesia, (in an hopeful effort to blend in more- yeah right!) I discovered how many pieces of my wardrobe were stripes.
